Artist by Cindiq Artist by Cindiq
I was just experimenting with a few colouring techniques and shadow/light contrasts XD.
As someone who enjoys drawing scenery immensely, I really enjoyed doing this piece :). I wish I spent a bit more time on the person though, but it looks like I spent all of my energy into the scenery instead lol.

This pic is a simple concept, not much to explain.
I was inspired by street artist Banksy, local artists like David Brunning, and other street artists I've see on city designated graffiti walls. Lots of ever changing and creative works there :)

I hope you like it :D

Tools: SAI, Photoshop, Rhino 3D, Tablet

Good stuff, but it kind of lacks on the banksy font. Banksy is a pop culture genius and all about freedom. Umbrellas on a wall to show a crowd is interesting but it wouldn't be immensely well received by anyone who passes by except to go "this is soft and gentle" which isn't Banksy. Banksy is practically a crude wrist slapper and he isn't sorry for it while still showing artistic genius, possibly he was a graphic designer of some type and attended a college, which is where he got his eye for his style references. As for this setup, where's the context? I'm not trolling about this part, seriously. Did he just paint those umbrellas in the rain? Where is his stencil? To use a can that well and detailed especially in rain and with so many people in public would go against a lot of conceptions of practical graffiti. I assume they are in his bag but his bag can be shown a bit more to make it easier to understand.

Still, amazing artwork and you are a very talented artists, Cindig. Keep up the great work and I hope I wasn't just a huge ass and provided some good intel. :)

Hello, I think I must provide my own say in this as well. To me, Banksy is an artivist, I am not. Nor am I trying to convey his very active role in conveying political, satirical, and critical aspects of society. I think I was very careful with the word "inspired". As a certified graphic designer myself, getting inspired isn't about doing the exact same thing or context as the person who inspired you. If that was the case, there wouldn't ever be creativity or artistic growth. For me, it was more about the technical aspects of Banksy's works, the transition between reality and imagination, such as trompe l'oeil.  In addition, I didn't purely get inspired by him, let's not forget there are plenty of wonderful and anonymous street artists out there that also inspired me. And just so you know, I'm not drawing Banksy... I like him being an figure-less icon :). If you really had to ask the figure in the picture here I was more inspired by a random street artist I saw the other day drawing on the city designated wall who had pretty awesome curly hair and he was cool. He was actually some of the real motivation for me to draw this picture.

Again this picture is just a simple concept like I said, I'm not a graffiti artist. In our city Graffiti isn't as big of a crime because the city provide plenty of spaces for artists to go spray on, so I personally don't know how sneaky graffiti has to be. I've went and looked at artists at work there.

Thank you very much for liking the work, I hope you don't mind my reply as well, because you were commenting on how unlike Banksy this is and suggested how I can be more like him. Unfortunately, I don't want to be more like him, I'm very sorry to disappoint you. I know his is a genius, but I also have my defiant self and not want to do the same thing as he does XD. Thank you for the suggestions though.
